Review on Daily Dose of Imagery

I've never been to Toronto, but before I die, I'd like to go once thanks to Sam Javanrouh. His site gives a glimpse of every visible angle Toronto has to offer. From the bird's eye views to the humble shots of people on the street, he manages to summarize the spirit of his city....without words. That spirit is the aggregate of disconnected people and their union with his eye.

These photos are a glimpse of what can be found at a daily dose of imagery and they've been posted here with Sam Javanrouh's permission.

2007 synopsis

I still have a few more days until the year ends, but I've made this little strip of photos from my posts. Seems like I've been attracted to nature and patterns.

With the web being so open, one can't help noticing people who are shattering the bounds of creativity. I plan on doing a small monthly writeup of the visual artists who revolutionizing the way I think.

I hope you have a peaceful new year.

In a boat room.

I spent a couple hours visiting Worcester's Vernon St. Motel in a place used for functions, Wednesday night open mike's, and critiques for songwriters. The place is made from the hull of a mahogany boat with little circular lights all along the walls. I asked my friends Dave and Penny to look at each other during these shots.

Archive: Vox banner entry

This was an entry for a Vox.com (site similar to blogger) banner/theme contest from 2006. I thought I should've won, but they didn't agree. This was made in photoshop, and, unfortunately, I didn't jot down the steps to recreate it.

Archive: Java hut Coffee House exhibit

This is from my March 07 exhibit in Worcester, Ma. It was a great night just because I got to put my ideas on the wall of a stellar and creative local coffee house. The exhibit was a photoshopped collage of images I'd taken during the first months with my SLR camera. Most of the images were taken on the west coast in Washington state. The top left, top right, and middle right images were sold! The other 5 images are in my basement.

Plum Island Grass

Taken on my first sunrise photoshoot with my camera. The overcast
day forced me to look for other pictures. Taken at Plum Island, MA.

Exploding Sky

Taken in Pittsburg, PA. It isn't just a town full of steel mills.
There's a lot of good food + vistas if you know where to go.
I looked up and saw this cloud pattern and was even more interested
after the photoshop tweak.

The white in a dull forest

The wind picked up during this shot, so held on to the branch with one hand and snapped the picture with my right hand.

Computer in a drum

I walked into my company's craft fair, took a glance at the jewelry+ scarfs, and swore not to snap one picture. That is until I saw this drum\computer. It is one of a kind, hand made in the same way real drums are assembled. spotswoodcustomcomputers.com

I showed this to a coworker and he said, "Oh that's stupid".
